Summer Feeding Program

Summer Feeding Program where parents can find a feeding site in their area.

Learning does not end when school lets out. Neither does the need for good nutrition. USDA Summer Meal Programs offer nutritious meals to children during the summer months and long vacations.

Free meals are available for children and teens 18 and younger at many locations throughout the nation throughout the summer while school is out of session. Use the mapping tool below to find a site near you.

Hackathon!!!

CODING4TX 2017 HACKATHON
SST-Alamo students participated in a Hackathon on Saturday, May 13, 2017 in Austin, TX.
A hackathon is an event where like-minded people come together to develop extraordinary projects within a set amount of time. Developed by MIT, the Scratch programming language is one of the most popular ways to start coding. Teams collaborated and built an original project in Scratch over the course of the day. The challenge was - Create a unique Scratch game designed to have students in Generation TX practice skills that will lead them to earn a college degree or certificate.

Our school participated with 8 students under Mr. Samir`s mentorship and earned following awards:
1st Place Matthew Moore (7th grade), 3rd Place Miguel Gonzalez (7th Grade), 3rd Place Andrea Blackburn (8th grade), 3rd Place Jace Mujica (8th grade), Enrique Barba, Brychan Dilworth, Mason Felihkatubbee, Thuyen Nguyen

Many thanks to all the students participated to this fun event, Mr. Samir for his dedication, Google Fiber of Austin for the transportation, and the RetailMeNot Corp for a great place.

MATHLETICS 2016-17

MATHLETICS 2016-17
Mathletics is a math club that offers fun and engaging programs that get middle school students excited about math. Students study Pre-Algebra, Number Theory, Counting and Probability, Algebra-1 and Geometry. We try to participate all local competitions in San Antonio area and advance to State level competitions. We advanced to State level for every competition we participated this year. Mathletics offers educationally enriching opportunity to participate in an academically-oriented activity and to gain recognition for mathematical achievement. We promote enjoyment and study of mathematics by participating competitions. Our program helps to enrich mathematics program and prepares students for advance level of math.

CRLP Boys Lock-In

CRLP Boys Lock-In

College Readiness and Leadership Program had a Boys Lock In last Friday January 27th. Our dedicated CRLP mentors spent their valuable 9 hours with CRLP students at school. They had three hours study time with character education time. Mr. Shepherd shared a story with students during character education time. Then they played hockey, basketball, play station, and volleyball. All CRLP students and mentors had an excellent time. Thanks to all CRLP mentors, students, and parents.

SST Academic team has prepared a resource site called Parent Connect to provide information on the concepts taught for each subject during each grading period, a list of resources for the course including online access for some materials, as well as other online resources that can enhance your child`s learning at home.
